After surviving multiple gunshot wounds in the line of duty and overcoming a 1–3% chance of survival, I realized that my resilient mindset and commitment to physical preparedness played a critical role in my survival. That experience became my mission to help others prepare for the demands of the profession.

TAC89 Tactical Human Performance exists to prepare first responders for the physical and mental demands of the profession. Inspired by a firsthand officer survival experience and built on real-world law enforcement expertise, evidence-informed human performance principles, and operational experience, our mission is to improve resilience, operational readiness, reduce preventable injuries, and extend career longevity. We don’t train for the gym—we train for the job.

    After surviving a critical on-duty shooting, Andy Rodriguez dedicated his mission to helping law enforcement, SWAT, fire, EMS, military, and tactical professionals improve operational readiness, resilience, strength and conditioning, recovery, nutrition, and career longevity through evidence-informed education and real-world operational experience.

    Today, Andy delivers tactical human performance training, keynote presentations, and professional development courses for agencies, police academies, conferences, and public safety organizations across the United States and Puerto Rico.
